Winter Landscape - encaustic painting on wood

Howard loves to sit on his back porch and watch the snow. He loves how the shadows move across it and never can understand how something so white can also be so colourful. There’s an empty bee box hanging from a chain on the tree nearby, swaying in the wind, his son made it to give carpenter bees a place to nest or something like that. He doesn’t really understand the point of it since carpenter bees usually make their own holes, but he reckons maybe something else will move in there instead. Time will tell.
